Curtis J. Hill enlistment record
This collection consists of an enlistment document declaring Curtis J. Hill's intent to enlist as a soldier in the army of the State of Georgia for a period of three years. The document is signed by the commanding officer of the 1st Georgia Regulars, Captain William J. Magill, and includes Hill's mark (in lieu of signature) and physical description.
D. C. Colley funeral invitation
The collection contains a hand written funeral invitation for Lieutenant D. C. Colley who served in Company G, 61st Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry. According to Mr. Colley's great-niece the invitation was shown door-to-door on a silver plate by a servant.
D. M. Russell Civil War letter
David G. Godwin letters
This collection contains letters written by David G. Godwin to his wife and to an unidentified individual called "Dr. G." He writes about the secession of Tennessee, the fall of Fort Henry, Tennessee, troop movements, skirmishes with the enemy, sickness among the soldiers, religious revivals in the camp, his thoughts on soldiers and deserters, camp life, and the removal of General Joseph E. Johnson from command.

This collection contains a photo copy of a letter written by Union soldier E. R. Perry to his aunt in New Hope, Pennsylvania, on November 23, 1863 from Fort Warren, Boston Harbor, Massachusetts. The letter mentions captured officers from the "rebel ram Atlanta", now prisoners of war.

Eliza Jones accumulated this collection to document the genealogy of her extended families as well that of her husband, Waldo Jones. Ella May Powell scrapbooks
Ellet, Cabell, and Hopkins families photographs
This collection consists of portraits of members of the Ellet, Cabell, and Hopkins families. The portrait of Mary Virginia Ellet Cabell (VIS 29.8) was produced by Marcus Aurelius Root (1808-1888), a well-known daguerreian, who worked primarily in Philadelphia and New York. Some of the albumen cards were produced by Linnie Condon, a late nineteenth century female photographer working in Atlanta, Georgia.
Emily Jane Winkler Bealer diary
This collection contains Emily Jane Winkler Bealer's diary in which she reflects on domestic life as an impoverished widow during Reconstruction in Atlanta. Topics include raising and educating her children, financial and business affairs, and social and church life. The collection also includes a typed transcript and biographical notes written by Bealer's great-granddaughter, Emily Bealer Calhoun II. These notes contain research on people and businesses referenced in the diary.
Emma Calhoun Connally papers
This collection includes envelopes; a Revolutionary War Claim signed by Secretary of War John C. Calhoun; a letter to Mr. T. A. Hill from T. N. Wall regarding Union soldiers taking a fortification held by two Alabama regiments; and a letter to Emma Calhoun concerning genealogy of the Massey family.
